Committee meeting

The BALTREL Committee Meeting was held in St. Petersburg, Russia on 2 June 2005. The meeting was hosted by Lenenergo and Mr. Andrei Lihachev, Director General of Lenenergo. The Chairman of the meeting was Mr. Tapio Kuula, President of Fortum Power and Heat Oy and Chairman of BALTREL.

The Committee elected Mr. Karlis Mikelsons, CEO and President of Latvenergo as the new Chairman of BALTREL for the next period 2005-2006. Mr. Maris Balodis, from Latvenergo was elected as a new Secretary General for BALTREL.

The Baltrel Committee approved two Baltrel Position Papers; Emission Trading and Investments in Transmission Infrastructure (see also Position Papers).

Adjacent to the Committee Meetins also a Seminar was kept concentrating to the issues of Emission Trading and Security of Supply (see also Seminars).
